Looks like Lenovo is all set to add a large screen model to its ThinkBook Plus series. The upcoming laptop’s design details have been revealed by @evleaks, known for his excellent track record for leaks. As per his tweet, the notebook will be dubbed as the 17-inch Lenovo ThinkBook Plus. Much like the existing 13-inch model, the 17-inch ThinkBook Plus will push the envelope when it comes to design innovations.
The 17-inch ThinkBook will feature a dual-display design. The secondary display sits near the trackpad, at the expense of a number pad. The additional screen comes with stylus input support. Going by the picture, the machine looks wider than most conventional laptops.
The secondary display seems ideal for designers who sketch on a digital canvas. For office users, it can come in handy to jot down quick notes. The notebook will most probably run Microsoft’s latest Windows 11 out of the box. The device draws inspiration from 2009’s ThinkPad W701DS, which shipped with pressure-sensitive stylus input.
At this point, there’s no information regarding the 17-inch ThinkBook’s launch and pricing. However, Lenovo generally shows off such peculiar hardware at Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2022 scheduled in the month of January 2022. If you are looking to purchase something similar this holiday season, it is worth checking out Asus’ ZenBook Pro Duo with a secondary screen placed near its keyboard. If you want to stick with Lenovo, the 13-inch ThinkBook Plus comes with an interesting secondary e-ink display on the lid. Those who would like to add the sketching capability to their existing laptop can check out Wacom’s sketch accessory.
