OnePlus has now rolling out the OxygenOS 4.1.7 update to its OnePlus 3 and 3T smartphones and it brings about much-awaited touch latency improvements to the smartphones. Apart from this, the update also brings along battery optimisations and Android security patch for the month of August as well. Notably, if users have not updated Google Hangouts, it will be automatically removed with the update.
To recall, the OnePlus 3 and 3T smartphone users started reporting the touch latency issues with the smartphones last year itself. With the OxygenOS 4.1.7 update, the company says that it has enhanced the system fluidity, brought about battery optimisations, and updated the Android security patch updated to August. Apart from these changes, the company also claims to have fixed several bugs regarding the platform with latest update. In a tweet posted on Tuesday, Carl Pei said, “Saw some confusion about this: OxygenOS 4.1.7 for 3/3T does indeed come with touch latency improvements.”
OnePlus says that the update will remove the Hangouts app, if it was not updated from Google Play, due to a request made by Google. The OxygenOS 4.1.7 update has been claimed to fix a sound channel error that showed up while recording videos, an issue where calls were being routed to speaker accidentally by some third-party apps, and a rendering issue in Kannada language.
Notably, the update also brings about the fix for the App Locker third party app issue. Recently, it was discovered that an app launcher app from Google Play could be used to easily bypass the app lockers offered on OxygenOS. It is good to know that the company has acted swiftly towards solving the issue.
