WhatsApp has updated its FAQ page with new details on the operating systems it won’t support, going forward.
The latest information is that WhatsApp will end support for Android Gingerbread version 2.3.7 and older, iOS 7 and older on February 1, 2020.
Users of the very limited handsets still running these older Android and iOS versions should take note.
Further, WhatsApp will support Nokia S40 until December 31, 2018.
While existing WhatsApp accounts will continue to work on these old operating systems till the mentioned deadlines, users can no longer create new WhatsApp accounts on them.
The company further warns, “Because we’ll no longer actively develop for these operating systems, some features might stop functioning at any time.”

WhatsApp has already stopped supporting these operating systems: Android versions older than 2.3.3, Windows Phone 8.0 and older, iPhone 3GS/iOS 6, Nokia Symbian S60, BlackBerry OS, and BlackBerry 10.
It’s best that you upgrade to a newer version of your operating system to make optimum use of the app.
WhatsApp is currently supporting Android 4.0+, iOS 8+, and Windows Phone 8.1+.
