Taiwanese computer and smartphone hardware and electronics company Asus has finally brought its new ZenFone 3 series to India. It announced a bunch of new smartphones today in the country which were first unveiled at Computex 2016 earlier this year. The company announced four new models including the the ZenFone 3, ZenFone 3 Ultra, ZenFone 3 Deluxe and the ZenFone 3 Laser.
ZenFone 3 Deluxe (Rs 49,999-62,999)
The ZenFone 3 Deluxe is the new flagship by the company which features an aluminum alloy unibody, 5.7 inch full HD Super AMOLED display and 100% NTSC colour space. The device has ultra-thin bezels and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 820, Adreno 530 GPS with 6GB RAM. There is also a second variant powered by a Snapdragon 821 clocked at 2.4GHz and 256GB UFS 2.0 storage with all other features remaining the same at Rs 62,999.
The device has a 23MP rear shooter with a Sony IMX318 image sensor with a large f/2.0 aperture and 4-axis optical image stabilization for image, and 3-axis electronic stabilization for 4K UHD videos. The camera is pegged to take smartphone photography to the next level with a combined laser AF and phase-detection AF system. The phase-detection will work in well-lit situations while the laser AF system will work in low-light situations.
The ASUS ZenFone 3 Deluxe supports QuickCharge 3.0, has a built-in fingerprint sensor on the rear and sports a reversible USB 3.0 Type-C port.
ZenFone 3 (Rs 21,999-27,999)
Next up is the ZenFone 3 which is a feature-packed, budget-friendly offering. It comes with a 5.2 inch Full HD Super IPS display and is powered by a Snapdragon 625 octa-processor (with 14nm FinFET process technology), with 32GB storage running on 3GB RAM. It has a 16MP rear camera based on Sony MX 298 sensor with the same autofocus technology as used in ZenFone 3 Deluxe. It also packs in a fingerprint sensor on the rear of the device. The Zenfone 3 features a glass and metal finish with 2.5D Gorilla Glass both on the front and rear. There is another variant for the same equipped with a 5.5-inch screen, 4GB RAM and 64GB storage with all other features remaining the same at Rs 27,999.
ZenFone 3 Ultra (Rs 49,999)
ZenFone 3 Ultra targets multimedia lovers a with 6.8-inch Full HD with 95 percent NTSC color gamut and ASUS-exclusive Tru2Life+ Video technology for a “high-end 4K UHD TV-grade” experience. The device sports Hi-Res Audio (HRA) along with new powerful speakers. The speakers are claimed to use a 5-magnet, Dolby-certified design. You only get stereo speakers, however. The device runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor along with an Adreno 510 GPU, 64GB storage and 4GB of RAM. It has the same 23MP rear camera as the ZenFone 3 Deluxe and sports a high-capacity, 4,600mAh battery with QuickCharge 3.0 Technology. The phone also works as a power bank with 1.5A output for charging other devices.
ZenFone 3 Laser (Rs 18,999)
This is the most affordable option available but yet again comes with a premium metal finish. It comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS display and is powered by a Snapdragon 430 octa-processor with an Adreno 505 GPU, 32GB storage and 2GB RAM. It has a 13MP rear camera with Sony’s IMX214 sensor, second generation AF, a fingerprint sensor on the rear of the device and a 3,000mAh battery.
